"Barbie" Is One Of My Favorite Movies Of 2023

My video review ran a bit long, but there are still a few things I wanted to add (per usual)

-I’ve never bought a New York Mets visor. It was given to me by the wonderful people at Barstool the last time I hung out with Clem and the "We Gotta Believe" boys when I was a New York. I’m a Tigers guy through and through. Y’all know this.

-Watching this movie is like being dragged to a play. OK, what the hell am I kidding? I love musicals, but you get my point. Sometimes you get dragged to a play, and when it starts to roll your eyes because everyone's in costume, singing, and dancing, but by the end of it, it wins you over. That's what this movie reminded me of. Everyone is so committed to their roles. Everyone is having so much fun that the energy becomes very Infectious.

-This movie is a prime example of how anything can be done right if the writers know what they're doing. I remember many people laughed at the idea of a Facebook movie being a thing. Still, when you take David Fincher's direction, coupled with Aaron Sorkin's amazing writing, you end up with one of the best films of the 21st century. "Barbie" won't be remembered that fondly, but I think this film will be remembered as a movie that was much better than it had any right to be.

-Film is subjective. I say that all the time. You may not like the message in this film and may hate the movie as a whole, but I'm telling you people will be talking about this movie for a long time. I could easily see it becoming something of a classic. It will be a summer blockbuster time capsule. If somebody asked me one day to put on the most 2023 movie possible, I'd default to "Barbie." And in an era where 90% of movies are forgettable, I have to give Greta Gerwig credit for making something you will remember once you leave the theatre.
