Messi Has Been In America For A Week And Already Has Roger Goodell Looking Like A Clown
No joke if the MLS has every team install the grass field before the NFL, we gotta start calling soccer 'football.' Messi is bigger than any NFL player, sure, not really an argument. But the fact that there has been a debate about the artificial turf vs grass field for what seems like at least a decade in the NFL and Goodell is just laughing. He's with SVP and Buster Olney DANCING!
Sorry that one got away from me.
Any time you can have a field look like this, you simply have to keep it:
Or this quote by Kupp:
You have people begging to get rid of the artificial turf. You have players from all eras complaining about artificial turf. You'd think at some point they'd step in and fix it.
Now it makes sense for the MLS to do whatever the hell Messi says. It's Messi. You can sit there and say what you want, but Messi is an investment for the league. Now the NFL can't just sit back and watch this happen. The MLS isn't even called America's 5th sport (that's The Challenge, duh).
It also just makes sense for the MLS (and NFL) to get rid of turf fields. You want Messi to play all the time, keep him on grass fields. It's why guys like Beckham or Henry sat out some matches. But either way, Messi is here. Times are a changing and Goodell better read up.
