Whoopi Goldberg Weighs In On Miranda Lambert Selfie-Gate, Says If You Buy Tickets To A Concert You Shouldn't Be Able To Take Photos

Source - Whoopi Goldberg has taken a stand − and an audience selfie − amid the debate over Miranda Lambert's decision to scold fans for photographing themselves at her concert.

"If they paid money for the tickets, they came to see her," Goldberg said, adding that people should have "at least a little respect" while the artist is singing.

During a recent performance of Lambert's "Velvet Rodeo" Las Vegas residency at the Bakkt Theater, the country singer halted her set to call out some fans for taking selfies during the show.

The Video:

She doubled down after co-host Sunny Hostin revealed that seats in the selfie-taking fans' section are at least $700. "If you're going to spend $750 to come to my concert, then give me the respect of watching me while I'm doing my thing," Goldberg said. "Or don't come!"

Fuckin' Whoopi. The lady knows how to gin up a headline. Siding with the artist who's charging people $750 per ticket rather than the fan who scrounged up the money to buy said ticket. Gimme a break. If you're spending that kind of money to attend my event and you want a picture to commemorate the moment...then so be it. Snap away, sister. Then go tell all your friends how great my performance was so I can rob them too.

And that's not to say I don't understand why Miranda (first name only bc we're friends) would be upset. If she's up there pouring her heart out and some dildo is snapping a camera in face that's one thing, but that simply wasn't the case. Sure the venue was small, but their friend took a quick photo of them as they were returning to their seats. Here it is...

On second thought, that is a bit close but my point stands. If you buy a ticket to a concert, you are allowed to take photos. Periodt. Just don't be annoying about it and don't be a distraction. Miranda should be happy they didn't throw the phone at her head. That's it for this one. Thanks for reading.
