As Soft As It Gets: The Jets Reportedly Won't Let Hard Knocks In The Room When Players Are Getting Cut, Claiming It's 'Not Humane'

[Source] - The team, for example, won’t let NFL Films cameras inside the rooms when coach Robert Saleh and General Manager Joe Douglas are cutting players.

“Hard Knocks will not be the same. They’re not going to be given the same access,” Schefter warned. “The Jets don’t believe it’s humane to show players being released.”

What's even the point of showing Hard Knocks this season? There wasn't one team who wanted to do it. The Jets are for sure an intriguing team, but now they should be picked to finish last in the AFC East. You can't be softer than refusing to show people getting cut or limiting access. This show has been going on forever, we're really going to pretend like it's some massive disadvantage to have the cameras around for training camp?

The whole point of Hard Knocks is to tell the story of individual players. Some of that story is not making a roster. You know what? Welcome to life. Everyone gets fired at least once in their life. Plus if anything it becomes humane because you start cheering for that person or checking in to see if they get picked up somewhere. We gonna pretend like the NFL is all roses and only good news? What sort of controlled media is this bullshit? Put Compton in charge instead:

Hard Knocks is supposed to be the start of football season for us fans. You hear the music, you hear the narration, you know that we're here. You're arguing with friends and family over the importance of a running back or going for it on 4th down before you know it. Now? Now it's sad and pathetic. The NFL had to bully the Jets into doing it. They are limiting access. Sure, I'm going to still watch because we're sluts for football, but it's not the same.

The Jets should just look at the Lions last year. All of America got a soft spot for them because of Hard Knocks. Now they are opening up the NFL season with unrealistic expectations (by Lions standards). You could be the AFC Lions if you tried.
