How The Mighty Have Fallen ... The Crowd At A Pauly D Concert Looks Like A Morgue
Listen, I don't know how long ago this was as Student City is a big Spring Break travel company (no free ads), and when I asked Karim the Machine if he already blogged it, Jack Mac was amazed at how low the views on the Tik Tok were and how something so obscure came across my timeline. I guess that's just how the algorithm works ... when I am not coming across recipes, I see Suits clips, and club videos and remind myself of a younger more fun time. Either way ... this was a sad sad video.
Don't get me wrong ... Jersey Shore is so far past it's prime every time I see a commercial I am astounded they are still on television. I don't know how anyone watches it knowing everything is essentially planned and they missed out on the first 2 seasons of peak unscripted television. Some of the best comedy out there. You always kind of knew Pauly D was going to be the biggest star of all of them because he had a skill (I use that term lightly)that could translate to making money for a long time. I didn't expect sold out venues and Vegas residencies to last forever, but when they did, and he became forgotten, you felt he could still charge a couple of grand to do a wedding so two Italians could say Pauly D spun at their wedding. Who wouldn't want ... "I NOW PRONOUNCE THE NEW MR AND MRS CALABRETTA !! " to be said by such a legend? I'll be honest, I even saw Pauly at a place in AC way back when, he wasn't the best ever but it was a big deal to have a name like that and people believe it or not wanted to see him there.
Man how things have changed. Now again, 15 seconds doesn't tell a full story, but these kids look like they are being water tortured in this video. Could they have any less fun? Do they know who he even is? Was there a bigger name after him? Man what a sad scene. Pauly D has to get this footage buried to save himself. You can't be trying to stay a top name on the 1's and 2's and have the crowd look like a dentist appointment. Tough scenes. At this rate Pauly will be at Knights of Columbus in a few weeks.
