"Would Be Fun For A Couple Months" - The Rockies Owner Emailed Back A Fan Who Reached Out To Him To Tell Him That Colorado Should Trade For Shohei Ohtani

Shooters shoot! This Rockies fan has the perfect plan to turn Colorado's franchise around. Trade for *drum roll* Shohei Ohtani! He wants Ohtani in purple and white so bad that he took time out of his day to send an email to Dick Monfort, owner of the Rockies. He just laid it all out there, said do what ya gotta do to bring Ohtani to the Mile High City. He even sent him a custom photoshop to really land the idea. All around it was an "A" for effort. You know he sent this with 0 expectation that he would get any sort of response.....

It took the owner of the Rockies 7 minutes to email this fan back. 7 minutes. I can't get anyone in my life to respond to a text message or email in 7 minutes, let alone the owner of a professional sports team. Monfort was short and to the point.

"He is a free agent at the end of the year. But would be fun for a couple of months."

There you have it folks, the Rockies think it would be "fun for a couple of months" to get Ohtani in purple pinstripes,m. I just love the fact that Monfort was probably playing Immaculate Grid or Angry Birds and saw an email come across and was like "fuck it, let me get back to this kid."

Who knew how easy it would be to get ahold of a team owner? Maybe we all should start emailing our team's owners to get them to listen to our ideas. Pretty funny move here by Monfort, he may run a dog water team with 0 plans for the future, but at least he gets back to his fans. And the best ability is availability, he showed that here. Now IF Ohtani goes to the Rockies, the city of Denver should erect a statue of this fan in front of the ballpark. He's the one who got the ball rolling on this.
