American Underdog Chris Eubanks Knocks Out World No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas And Is Into The Quarterfinals of Wimbledon

There has been a recent surge in American men's tennis over the last few year that's been spear-headed by names like Frances Tiafoe, Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, Ben Shelton, and Seb Korda. Someone who kinda was forgotten in all that was Chistopher Eubanks.

Chris has been on the grind since he turned pro in 2017, and for a while wasn't seeing any results. It got so bad that he recently joined the Tennis Channel as a commentator/analyst to do on the side. He recognized his career was going nowhere and thought logically to pivot elsewhere. Realistically he was a few more failures away from doing that full time. Then all of a sudden a few weeks ago he ripped off five straight wins in Spain to win his first ever ATP title. Funny enough just before that tournament he was seeking any advice he could find about playing on grass. Whatever Kim Clijsters said clearly worked wonders.

He rode that momentum into Wimbledon, a place he'd never even qualified to play at before. A week later he's into the quarterfinals after knocking out the world no. 5 Stefanos Tsitstipas. What in the world is happening?

When I say this couldn't be happening to a better dude I mean it. One of the most humble, genuinely nice pro athletes you'll ever come across. This motherfucker has grinded his ass off to get to this point and it's finally all come together. Last July he was ranked 163rd. You only have to go back to March to find Eubanks ranked 119th in the world. After today's win he's all the way up to 31st. Guy's life is changing for the better with every passing minute that flies on by. Fucking nuts. Good for him. He gets Medvedev next in the quarters. Gotta think the whole crowd will be on his side rooting on the underdog. Go Chris Go.
