Pirates Closer David Bednar Got A Fantastic Gift From His Manager After Being Told He Was Replacing Clayton Kershaw On The All-Star Team....A Case Of Beer.
Gotta love videos like this. David Bednar from the Pirates gets surprised by his manager in the clubhouse telling him that he is replacing Clayton Kershaw in the All-Star Game. He seemed happy, very happy....but the real happiness came when the cace of IC Light, Pittsburgh's finest river water beer was delivered to Bednar.
Place erupted, you'd have thought they clinched a playoff spot those guys were so happy. I love the guys getting hyped up for their buddy. Bednar should have already been on the team anyways! But now he gets to go to Seattle and he is one case of beer richer.
This is Bednar's second appearance in the All-Star Game, you have to wonder if maybe a keg is in the works for #3. I'd try and negotiate that into my contract somehow. Bednar and his teammates reactions were all of us in high school when you sent the one kid with a fake ID to get another 30-pack when the party was dying down. You get that second wind and start going nuts. Love seeing these guys react like this for a trip to Seattle and some beer. Real yinzer material there! Congrats to David Bednar, and hope he shares with his guys.
This was neat too, since Bednar replaced Kershaw in the game he decided to leave a few cold ones for old Clayton. Guys being guys, what is better than that?
