The Oscars Called Taylor Swift And Said "Taylor, We Need You To Be A Part Of The Academy" And She Said Yes

Taylor Swift is now officially a part of the Academy. That means, when I eventually win my Oscar for best actress (or supporting actress) and I'm sobbing on the stage, likely too drunk to be up there, before thanking all of my friends and family I will of course be thanking The Academy. I would've been thanking Taylor Swift first anyway, and now, it's in a much more professional way. It's just crazy to think that one day, very soon, Taylor Swift is going to see me on the big screen and think "Wow, that deserves an Oscar." 

In reality, Taylor will now be a voter for both the Grammys and the Oscars. I actually do think this is awesome and completely appropriate, considering I don't think it's dramatic to say that she's currently changing and molding the landscape of pop culture and the arts right now, especially FOR artists. She's someone who takes hard work into account when judging someone's final product and I love that about her. 

I also weirdly think this will make me appreciate the winners more? Sometimes a specific movie or person will win and I'll be a little disappointed. Now when these people win, I'll shift my lens to that of which Taylor Swift must be viewing them out of. If she saw something in them, so can I.
