Brian Windhorst Is Either Dropping Hints Or He's Drunk With Power After Unleashing An All Time Tease About The Cavs

You have to give Windy credit, he's been on a roll these last few years when it comes to "rumors" and player movement. Especially with anything involving the Jazz. We all remember the Rudy Gobert trade, and it appears he was back at it again this summer when it comes to John Collins

It's pretty clear Danny Ainge has Windy's phone number. And while for years he was mostly just a LeBron reporter, here in 2023 we're at the point where if Windy starts talking about this stuff, you kind of have to listen.

Which brings us to today

Is it sad that speculation about speculation is considered "news"? Of course. But at the same time…

Alright, what do we think Windy is talking about here with the Cavs? Could this be a Donovan Mitchell trade? Are they about to trade one of their bigs? Flip Darius Garland for a position of need?

If you look at the Cavs roster, I think most will agree that their biggest need right now is probably a wing. According to Windy, this is something that has to be outlandish. OK, I'll bite. We know that the Cavs need a wing, and we know that Donovan Mitchell is very close with someone like…Jaylen Brown. So…..some sort of package around Darius Garland for Jaylen Brown? Or, maybe it's Mitchell for Jaylen? Hmmmm

OK, maybe this is all ridiculous, so take the Celts out of it and open it up to the market. You wanna get nuts? Let's get nuts!

What if this is actually another LeBron return? I mean that would connect some dots given Windy's past. I'm not sure how they get to LeBron's $47M salary number, but you can figure that shit out I guess. Remember that Sixers report from a few days ago?

That would certainly be something if there's some sort of package here that got worked out. Could there potentially be some sort of deal that gets Dame the win now help he wants and he stays in POR?

Maybe it's all bullshit, but recent history suggests that when Windhorst starts talking like this and throwing this stuff around, it's usually followed by an actual move. With 4 days to go until free agency I feel like you have to assume everything is on the table, even if many of the "reports" we're going to be hearing about are smoke screens or agents posturing.

I'm just at the point where Windy has been right enough recently that

So either we're about to get a huge free agency bomb, or Windy is just drunk with power.
