NYC Is Trying To Crack Down On Coal/Wood-Fired Pizzerias And It's Time We Take A Stand

Source: Mamma Mia!

Historic Big Apple pizza joints could be forced to dish out mounds of dough under a proposed city edict targeting pollutant-spewing coal-and-wood-fired ovens, The Post has learned.

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection has drafted new rules that would order eateries using the decades-old baking method to slice carbon emissions by up to 75%.

Is nothing sacred anymore? I'm not political but I'm joining Portnoy in the coup and anyone else who lives here probably would too. Who would have thought that it would be banning pizza that would bring the red wave to New York City. There is one thing you don't mess with in this city and it's the sacred pie. We were fine last week when the entire city was ORANGE from the Canadian wildfires but this is where we draw the line? I've long said that solving climate change would start with putting the coal spots like Lombardi's and John's of Bleecker out of business. They're just going to outlaw properly made pizza?

Good thing we have our Lord in Pizza Portnoy on the case because this will set the city back decades. I can't believe this is a real topic when anyone who lives in New York City could probably give you 1,000 bigger priorities. Whoever is behind this hates life and joy. My question is what changed now that they decided to make pizzerias that have perfected the slice over the course of likely a century now change course? My inner monologue is going to win if I continue writing this blog, but take our pizza and that means war. I'll see you on the picket line.
