Two Men From Nova Scotia Played 306 Holes Of Golf In 12 Hours And I Have To See More Video
UPI News - A pair of Nova Scotia men unofficially broke a Guinness World Record by golfing more than 290 holes in 12 hours.
Cape Briton men Wes Stanford and Thomas Xidos attempted the world record Wednesday at The Lakes Golf Club & Resort to raise money for the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation.
Standord and Xidos took aim at the Guinness World Record for most golf holes played by a pair using a cart in 12 hours, which was set at 290 holes by British duo Jay Kelly and George Boxall in 2016.
"The speed at which they are doing this -- they are not stopping for two seconds," April Powers, events manager at The Lakes, told CTV News during the attempt. "They've been at this since the crack of dawn, and they are not letting up at all. Their pace is amazing."
Stanford and Xidos surpassed their goal by completing 306 holes in the allotted time.
First off, awesome of these two guy to raise money for Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation. It's great anytime anyone raises money for those in need are great people. These two guys should be proud of their efforts and the people they helped. Additionally, this is an awesome little tactic to get to play golf for a cause. Most times you see "Mr.Jones is running 100 miles in a month to raise money for ___ foundation." Or "Mrs.Williams is running the marathon for raise money for blank." And those people should be commended as well, but that is a difficult task. You have to train, you have to run, you sweat etc. These two guys got it figured out ... how do we look like great guys and get to play golf? Boom.
Now, again I commend these guys a ton but the only video we see of this is the celebration at the end? How can you rob us of video of how these guys pulled this off ? No matter how much you slice it, 306 holes of golf is a crazy amount. Even if it's a Par 3 course (which it probably had to be logistically), and even if it's in a cart, this is a hell of a lot of steps/swings/time. These are all the questions I want the answers too and would sure help if we had the video of it.
Here's some math.
306 holes divided by 12 hours is 25.5 holes per hour
A standard round of golf is 18 holes, that's 17 full rounds of golf (306/18).
If every hole is at minimum a 150 yard Par 3 that's 45,900 yards at minimum.
Again, I need to see how they pulled this all off. Did they just bang the ball 25 yards at a time to keep stamina and run after it? Did they have a cart? What did they do for breaks? How did they clear a golf course for 12 hours in the summer? I need to see the footage, and it's a shame it's not out. You can't give a crazy headline that two guys banged out 306 holes in 12 hours and leave us to figure out the answers. It's just not fair.
