Super Asshole Rob Manfred Decides Years Later To Admit That He Regrets Not Suspending The Houston Astros

To begin this blog I have to admit I'm very much over the Houston Astros cheating scandal. Have been for quite a while now to be honest. It happened, they got away with it, they received a slap on the wrist, and then they won in 2022 to validate themselves. Whenever the Bronx faithful conjure up a "Fuck Altuve" chant when the Yankees are playing someone like the Orioles it makes me want to put my head through a wall. Just stop.

Then you have Rob Manfred opening up his stupid mouth again to admit years later he messed up the punishments. Just like that my anger has returned, but just towards him.

The Athletic

In a wide-ranging interview with TIME, the commissioner said that he would like a do-over on “some of the decisions surrounding the Houston situation,” referring to the Astros’ electronic sign-stealing scandal.

“I’m not sure that I would have approached it with giving players immunity,” Manfred said to a follow-up question from reporter Sean Gregory. “Once we gave players immunity, it puts you in a box as to what exactly you were going to do in terms of punishment. I might have gone about the investigative process without that grant of immunity and see where it takes us. Starting with, I’m not going to punish anybody, maybe not my best decision ever.”

What an asshole. There's no way he could possibly believe this would make him look better, right? There's no reason at all for Manfred to talk about this other than he proving he loves being a dick. Maybe it's a fetish of his? Saying this shit now just a week after shitting on the A's fanbase is something only a special kind of dickhead could do.

Back to the Astros thing I'm not even sure he could have levied player suspensions back then with how the CBA was written and how strong the players union is. So in reality Manfred is just saying this to say it like the asshole that he is.

Worst ambassador for the sport you could ever imagine. Guy only cares about the owners who pay his salary and no one else. Fans? Who needs em! Happy players? Never heard of em.
