A Computer Programmer Dad Told His 9-Year-Old Daughter Her Coding Was Dogshit And Wants To Know If He's The Asshole

It's pretty rare to see an "Am I The Asshole" where you don't even need to give a cursory thought to consider the other side, but this is absolutely one of them. I don't think I've ever seen one of these where the person who posted it was so clearly a piece of shit.

This dad just loves telling his daughter she sucks at doing something remarkably difficult and that most kids would never even attempt. She's nine years old making video games and the dad just wants to shit down her throat. And he's still so convinced he's right after all this that he goes to the internet to try to get strangers to validate his shittiness. All-time WOAT material.

And don't get me wrong, I am as anti-give-every-kid-a-trophy as you're going to find, but that's a little bit different than telling your fourth grade daughter that her coding — which she's doing because her dad does it and she wants to be like him and make him proud — sucks. Even just refusing to help her learn in the first place was enough to make this guy the asshole and then he somehow blew that terrible parenting out of the water.

I hate this guy so much. Princess Programmer deserves better.
