You Want Passion? Here's Passion. Watch Jena Antonucci Go Absolutely Nuts As She Became The First Female Trainer To Win The Belmont Stakes In Its 155 Year History

Well that was quite the ride, huh? We'll get to the horse actually running later in the blog, but watching Jena Antonucci will Arcangelo to the finish line at the Belmont Stakes was something else. While I'm stoked for her making history I think I'm also frightened, but at the same time relieved she won. Just here thinking about what would have happened had the horse not been victories. Arcangelo loses by a nose and I think the stands just engulf into flames.

That's passion folks. You can't teach that kind of heart. Antonucci just became the first female trainer to win the race in its 155 year history. You think she wanted it? Think it mattered to her? Shades of Kramer at the OTB

Here's the actual race. Pretty sweet watching the 3 horse wait for its moment to kick it into high gear and pull away.

They caught up with Antonucci for some thoughts here and she dropped a great quote.

“Never give up. And if you can’t find a seat at the table, make your own table.” Love that line. Nothing this idiot will ever put to good use, but maybe someone reading or watching at home does. Not even a big horse racing guy but that's awesome stuff.
