Jersey Mike's Ran A One-Hour-Only Delivery Promo For Free Sandwiches That Turned Their Restaurants Into Hell On Earth

If Jersey Mike's set out to shut down their restaurants yesterday, then the Sub-perior Happy Hour promotion was a smashing success. The delivery promotion gave users $25 off an order of $12 or more for just one hour, which is a great deal if you're one of the customers who actually received a sandwich. It doesn't take a math major, however, to foresee the problems Jersey Mike's ran into.

I'm not one to complain about free food in this economy, but who the hell thought this was going to be a good idea? You know at a minimum, you're going to have your store flooded with delivery drivers going in and out for an hour and that's assuming your employees are even able to make all the orders, which they clearly were not.

Just give customers $25 in credits if they download the Jersey Mike's app or something. That not only eliminates a large percentage of people who just don't care enough to do that, but also now puts your business on a device a customer uses all day and gives you their information to send them e-mails and texts forever. I just saved Jersey Mike's from a clusterfuck and made them more money in a matter of seconds.

If you missed the first Sub-perior Happy Hour, you unfortunately missed the only one as the promotion has been called off. Gone but not forgotten.
