Guy Didn't Play Poker For NINE YEARS Because His Ex-Gf Didn't Like It...Immediately Comes Back And Wins A WSOP Bracelet And $217,000

I love a feel-good story. A story that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. And this is one of those. The man right there holding that bracelet with a big smile on his face, his name is Joseph Altomonte. And he is very happy because he just won over $200,000 and his first WSOP bracelet. That would be enough to make anyone grin ear to ear. But he has a little extra to smile about, because nothing feels better than revenge. Better than a big fat "told ya so". And that's what he gets to do for the rest of his life to his ex-gf:

PokerNews - After his dominating victory, Altomonte told PokerNews he was extremely excited to be back in the poker world as he was a professional poker player back in 2010. "My ex said being a poker player wasn't an acceptable occupation, so I quit for a very long time," he explained. The now-single Altomonte has only been playing again since February of this year and is already racking up impressive results.

Altomonte was so excited to win the bracelet that he asked to call his parents before the photos and interview began. "It's a dream come true, you don't even understand."

Gentlemen (and ladies), don't ever, EVER let a girlfriend tell you how to live your life. Sure you may love her, but how can you allow someone to tell you not to follow your dreams? You don't want to be on your deathbed in 50 years wondering "what if?". There's no time like the present to live your life the way you want to live it, and if she really loves you, she'll understand that you have to follow your own goals and dreams and you hope she can be there by your side, supporting you. If not, well then maybe it's simply just not meant to be.

Jospeh had zero live poker results from 2014 until 2023 and now he's absolutely crushing it, including an $87,000 score in March, a $104,000 score in April, and now over $200,000 and a bracelet. If that ain't the feel-good story of the year, I don't know what is.

I cannot imagine going 9 years without playing poker. Playing poker tournaments is basically the only thing I enjoy. The rush of sitting at the table, building chip stacks, it's all so therapeutic. And when you're running well and winning your flips, it's the best rush you can get. I've heard rumors that sex is a pretty good rush, but as good as your pocket jacks holding vs AK in a chip lead pot? Definitely not.

So congrats to our newly singly king Joseph. Maybe it's all part of the masterplan- he had to quit poker for a while and grind the real world so he could put himself into the position he is now to crush. Just remember, everything happens for a reason, but if you aren't happy in your situation, you aren't stuck there forever. You can find your way out, even if it takes 9 years.
