Jacob deGrom Will Undergo Tommy John Surgery To Fix A Torn UCL

Just an absolutely awful break for Jacob deGrom and the Texas Rangers. Not that nobody saw this potentially coming. Far from it.

For roughly the past 5 years, Jacob deGrom was either the best pitcher I have ever seen or he was injured without much in between. Sure there would be an off start here or there that would result in some sort of a phrase like his elbow was barking or you would learn about another part of Jake’s body was banged up due to him throwing a baseball in a way you just don’t see.

It lasted so long that I thought Jake would somehow make it through his career without a second Tommy John Surgery, with this quote being the most worrisome two years ago.

I’m not sure if Jake will be back in 2024 or 2025, but there is no reason for the Rangers to rush him back considering the huge investment they made in his right arm from Hell. They need him to get right so baseball can experience his greatness again, especially since they didn’t insure his contract.
