Did The Oakland Athletics Hit José Abreu Because He Ran Around The Bases Too Fast After His First HR Of The Season?

Been a tough go for José Abreu during his time with the Astros, like a really tough time. 0 power, can't hit for average anymore, getting up there in age, just an all around rough season. So naturally when he hit his first homer of the season on Sunday was like a kid in a candy store. Instead of a pimp job he decided to haul ass around the bases, dude was MOVING. Second fastest home run trot for a homer over the wall this season too. He then decided to top it off by sliding into all his teammates in front of the dugout. Was it showing up the pitcher in any way? I didn't think so, just an old man having fun and celebrating his first homer as an Astro.

As is tradition, the game got out of hand for Oakland and they're down 10-1 and suddenly Abreu gets plunked. Seeeeeemed to me it's on purpose. Getting shit pumped, Yordan Alvarez had just gone yard, Abreu was sprinting like a mad man after his last at-bat. You can't tell me this wasn't on purpose and it seemed like Abreu and the rest of the Astros knew it. He handled it pretty well, didn't make a stink. Who cares if he got hit, they smoked the A's and are one of the hottest squads in baseball. Abreu definitely didn't like it but handled it the way he should have. I'm sure he'll remember that the next time they play the A's too. Pretty JV move by Oakland, all things considered. Just interesting how it all went down....

That pitch for sure got the attention of the Astros, especially Yordan. Look at that dude, he may fight the entire city of Oakland next time a pitch comes close to an Astro.
