We May Have A New "Kiss Of Death"

For years and years, "the kiss of death" was most famously in The Godfather II when Michael Corleone holds his brother Fredo's face and says "I know it was you Fredo. You broke my heart." The kiss symbolizes Fredo is a "marked man" or "marked for death" after double crossing his brother with betrayal to Hyman Roth and Johnny Ola.

It was the go to reference for "kiss of death" ... for decades ... until possibly last night.

Let me Phil(ly Mays) you in.

Max is a producer on Pardon My Take ... huge Philly guy. Wackjob fan ... the realest of the real.

Nutbag. But in the best way possible.

Hank is a Celtics fan, who also works on Pardon My Take.

They have been frenemies all spring as the Celts took out The Sixers. This including Max having to shave in a soul patch.

So of course, Max was rooting for The Heat last night while watching the game. He was all over it, sending out videos, updates etc. That should about catch you up.

It's his last video where the story really takes a turn.

While watching what he thinks was the ending of a Heat win … his friend very oddly kisses his cheek. Now I'm not here to judge if  kissing your friends on the cheek in public is a bizarre and wild move, especially one you know is on video. That's not my place. I think I would say it's a nutty move, but that's besides the point.

My question here is to ask … after the result of The Celtics game, and the premature celebration kiss by this guy … is this the new kiss of death? Did this friend just unexpectedly hand the Celts a game 7 win and we just don't know it yet? Will people be asking in 20 years "you know about the kiss of death?" and them answering "oh of course. .it was Max's friend."

I'm not here to say how history is going to turn out, but we may have a pinnacle moment in history folks. That kiss may have meant everything …

PS- Can't really fault the kid for thinking kisses on the cheeks are a way to say hello. Him and Max are Italian … it's in their blood.
