Having The Giants Play In Philadelphia On Christmas Day Should Be Illegal And Changed Immediately

I get why you'd want the Giants on Christmas Day. But, this? This is the worst from a fan standpoint. This has nothing to do with the actual game, but rather the logistics of it all. Smack dab Christmas Day likely directly after a Knicks noon game. We - I say we as New York fans - already have to deal with timing out the gifts, lunch, travel with that.

But this is about Christmas Day. It's supposed to be a day where you crack into some drinks early, do gifts and fight to stay awake in the afternoon because your kids wake you up at 5:30am to see if Santa ate the cookies. Little hint kid: yeah, dad got drunk fighting putting together your gifts the night before and hammered those chocolate chip cookies. But now you're telling me I have to worry about my happiness because of 53 guys playing in Philly in week 16 on Christmas Day?

Noooo thank you.

Don't get me wrong. I feel good about the Giants. For the first time in a long time there's hope. I'm not saying Super Bowl favorites, but they should contend for the playoffs again. At the same time I know Philly is a house of horrors. This is also going to destroy Christmas dinner for families. Basically any family in south Jersey is going to be screaming at each other because of this game. We need to save those fights for other things - like hypothetical sports arguments.

I don't mind football on Christmas Day, especially Christmas night, it's a nice little treat. I just don't want my team playing a rival on that day. Too much pressure.

PS: If the Eagles get to wear their alternate black jerseys on Christmas the game shouldn't count. It's borderline protest worthy.
