"We're Not Drug Dealers" El Chapo's Sons Say They Are Part Of Global Misinformation Campaign

Yes in the echo chambers of the ridiculous world we live in, you read that right.

It's almost like when someone comments on Tik Tok or YouTube under a video I do on a mobster from history and says "there is no Mafia." Yeah a 100 year history, hundreds of court cases, indictments, books, magazines, photos, wiretaps, video footage, it's all fake.

The four sons of the notorious trafficker from the Sinaloa Cartel released a letter this week through their lawyers detailing and denying all the recent charges waged on them by the federal government

This letter was a response to those charges. In it they claim they:

"Never produced, manufactured or marketed fentanyl or any of its derivatives,"

A lot to unpack here, in that those comments are wild first of all, second of all delusional and third there is some pretty damning proof to back it up. There's evidence that back in 2013, the Sinaloa Cartel including El Chapo himself and his sons received a large shipment of fentanyl through a Guatemalan connection they had to Chinese producers. At the time they weren't sure about what to do with it, but added it to the growing amount of pure "China White" heroin they had and by the end of that year were shipping it to the border and into towns in New Mexico.

It exploded and less than 10 years later it's essentially taken ahold of the country and is one of the biggest issues America has now. They basically created the poison that is fentanyl and literally used humans as guinea pigs for the product.

They also claim:

"They are not the Sinaloa Cartel's leaders but rather are the victims of an international misinformation campaign by companies, the media and public figures that has painted them to be notorious drug traffickers"

All I guess you can say here is for them it's deny, deny, deny? It's hard to do though just because there's literally decades of lineage of association to drug cartels that goes back to their father who is doing life in the most secure prison in America for DRUG TRAFFICKING. The songs about them, the videos, the wiretapped conversations, the money, the life they live because of drugs is pretty hard to deny. They also claim in the letter that in their home state of Sinaloa, independent networks of dealers use their name for clout.

The issue I think the brothers have at this point is that they may feel untouchable. Remember that one of the brothers, Ovidio was literally released 6 hours after being captured by the military in 2019 due to the power they had. In recent months he was captured again but the other brothers have impunity at this point to do what they do.

Then again, there are recent reports that the remaining brothers have fled into the mountains and are going to now live with the fact that it's gonna be life in a shack high up in the mountains. It remains to be seen the level of cooperation Mexico will give to help the US actually find and prosecute Los Chapitos. As we know though they both as countries could stamp it out pretty quick, they don't really want to.

Other highlights of the letter include:

"For example, in order to work with total impunity, they trick their suppliers and clients into believing they are our business partners and intermediaries, in order to have a better negotiating position. Since they have problems with law enforcement, they choose to implicate us instead as a part of plea deals. Without any photos, audio recordings or video evidence, they [law enforcement] believe their stories - not facts. It is easy to do when the person you blame doesn't have the right to answer. But, it is not just people from the underworld who benefit from our name. In the social media era in which we live, the number of people using Chapo Guzmán's name or ours, his Sons, keeps increasing. They do this out of a need to get views and go viral, or from a desire to become famous themselves."

They also make it very clear they never fed anyone to tigers.

"The story about us murdering someone with our own hands, the story of the bat and the tigers is FALSE. A tiger might kill a person, but eat him? We don't have, and never had, tigers. That's easy and simple enough to investigate."

I guess that's a good thing even though not feeding someone to tigers doesn't necessarily make you a good person. All in all a wild story in a world full of them.
