"HIT IT CHARLIE!" This 4/20 News Segment From Detroit Deserves All The Emmys

CHARLIEEEEE!!! What a fucking video. Hand up, I (and every blogger here) missed this gem last week when it apparently came out. But I had to throw it up on the blog because it took me back to a simpler time on the internet of when news stories were full of good vibes instead of the doom and gloom we get shot into our eyeballs and ear drums every single minute of every single day.

Someone said this was like a real life Chapelle Show skit, which is about as accurate as it gets because I could see Chapelle putting on his white news anchor suit, throw a little gray in the hair since it's 20(!!!) years since the show's been on and that exact video playing out on Comedy Central.

Instead it's real and it's spectacular thanks to Charlie and the fine people of Motown. I didn't know who Charlie Langton was when I woke up this morning, but I'm pretty sure he's my best friend, just like I'm sure he's the best friend of everyone in the Greater Detroit Area that has been watching him for years. The Lions admittedly took a little bit of a hit in my head as dark horses to win the NFC next season because they lost Jameson Williams for 6 games and released a couple of other players due to NFL gambling rules. But I'm starting to think a city that has Dan Campbell and Charlie Langton in it is due to have their moment in the sun, no matter how many times that city has been knocked down.

Also if/when Detroit has it's big moment, let's not forget about the man that saved the city roughly a decade ago.
