The Next Godzilla King Kong Movie Just Dropped Its First Teaser And We're Getting a Team-Up Blockbuster

I'm a simple man. You put Godzilla and King Kong on the big screen battling other titans of the ancient world, I'm going to give you money to watch the film. Large popcorn, large soda, some candy, just like that you've taken $50 from me without a single regret from me.

The Godzilla Monsterverse movies from Legendary Entertainment are not going not win any Academy awards. They're not going to sniff the top of Jeff D Lowe's Movie Rankings charts.. What they will do is thoroughly entertain you from start to finish with action all over the place. Two+ hours of mindless chaos and destruction unfolding before your very eyes.

Take for example the air craft carrier scene from the last one.

Or the Hong Kong fight scene.

I had a fucking blast during Godzilla vs. Kong. Coulda done with a little more of Eiza Gonzalez, but other than that it was everything I wanted. That movie and Top Gun: Maverick basically saved movie theaters. You could argue they saved America from the pandemic. And now we get to do it all again with another installment next year, sans a global virus.

We don't know a whole lot from that teaser other than there's clearly a new monster ready to end the world for good and the big guys are going to team up. Here's the official synopsis.

This latest entry follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.

I'm thinking we're getting some kind of evil, hybrid Kong who gives us similar energy that Godzilla does. Seems like this isn't going to be and old foe from the Japanese Godzilla films. I'm good with that. I'm honestly more than fine with anything they do at this point as long as I get Godzilla and Kong doing their things. Sure you can nitpick shit here and there, and complain about the humans, but the action is too good to pass up. I'll watch as many of these movies as they produce with a giant smile on my face.
