The Attendance At Today's Tigers-Guardians Game Is Downright Shocking

I tuned in to the Tigers-Guardians game taking place this afternoon because ... well, it was on, I guess. And while I didn't expect a packed house at Comerica Park at 1 p.m. on a Tuesday, I was shocked when I saw the stands. There's NOBODY there.

It reminded me of a 2018 Tennessee baseball game on a freezing weekday afternoon against Western Carolina where a couple other guys in the press box and I counted 18 people at Lindsey Nelson Stadium during the national anthem. There are a few more than that in Detroit this afternoon, but not many.

To be completely fair to the Tigers, this game is a make-up from last night when it was simply too cold and windy to play and it's still cold and windy this afternoon. But it's still jarring to see maybe a couple hundred people in the ballpark for a Major League game.

Anybody at Comerica Park today deserves tickets for the rest of the season. Those are diehards.
