7-6 Arkansas Proudly Unveiled Its Liberty Bowl Rings And Was Promptly Roasted By The Entire Internet For Being That Stupid

I would expect most college football programs in 2023 to be smart enough to not flaunt rings from a 7-6 season on social media for fear of immense ridicule and embarrassment. Not Arkansas, but most.

Alas, the Hogs want everyone to know how proud they are of taking down the perennial football powerhouse that is the Kansas Jayhawks in triple overtime in the Liberty Bowl. If that's not cause for rings, I don't know what is.

And look, if you want to hand out rings to the players for winning one of the 200 bowl games out there, more power to you. Those guys work hard. But I would advise keeping the participation trophies off Twitter. Everything a college football program does is in some way tied to recruiting and I'd guess the number of recruits who saw this video and thought, "Man, I need to be in Fayetteville," is roughly zero.

You just hate to see such a swing and a miss here from a program with as much history and tradition as Arkansas. When I think about the best teams in the SEC who are consistently competing for championships, the Razorbacks are right at the top of the list. Real shame they're getting dragged through the mud on this one.
