Odell Beckham Is Signing A One-Year Deal With The Ravens Worth Up To $18 Million

Hey now! Trying to watch a little golf here on a gorgeous Masters Sundee and ODB is dropping this shit on me!

There's a lot to take in with this one. Beckham is clearly an EXTREMELY talented player and the Ravens are rather devoid of that at the wide receiver position. Have been for damn near their entire existence, or at least from a depth perspective. Adding him to the room with a hopefully healthy Rashod Bateman gives them a pretty damn good one-two punch. I'd stop well short of calling it an elite duo, but it's certainly enough to keep up with the Joneses and hopefully put an end to the consistent theme that the Ravens haven't done enough to help their QBs have success.

Which of course begs the question.... does ODB know something we don't? Was he given some level of assurances that the Ravens and Lamar are nearing some level of a reconciliation? Or that there was an alternative game plan in place with another QB? It's just hard to fathom that he would choose to take a one-year prove-it deal with the possibility of Tyler Huntley (or other) at QB over going to NYJ with Aaron Rodgers. That just makes no sense. The IG post of his kid wearing a #8 jersey is obviously intriguing too.

Are the tides starting to turn here? A couple hours ago, Marlo opened the #ComeToTheRavens floodgates after weeks of telling us to stay patient.

Idk man. I'm afraid to get my hopes up but things feel like they're starting to happen.

As for Beckham... I'm a little wary of just how long it's been since he's been a top flight receiver. He hasn't topped 1,100 yards or 100 catches since 2016, mostly because of injury. We've got enough of that type of thing to go around. It sounds like $15M of it is guaranteed, so it certainly feels like an overpay.... but I can swallow it given that it's only a year. Plus at the end of the day, can I really complain about the Ravens FINALLY investing in a position they've neglected for so many years?

Either way, we'll keep an eye on things as they continue to develop...
