Oscar Winning Head Coaches Doesn't Guarantee A Great Movie

In this episode of DOUBLE PLAY, Brandon Walker and I talk about Oscar winning head coaches in basketball movies.

Hoosiers stars Academy Award winning actor Gene Hackman who coaches an Indiana high school basketball team in a movie Brandon calls a top five sports movie. I don't have it ranked that high and it has one of the worst characters you'll see in any decent sports movie. Barbara Hershey as the love interest is bizarrely discouraging and miserable.

Eddie stars Academy Award winning actor Whoopi Goldberg who coaches the New York Knicks. Eddie is a truly terrible movie but does have an insanely stacked cast of NBA players. Sadly, even Muggsy Bogues and Larry Johnson can't save this horrific movie.
