It Looks Like "Nice Guys 2" Is Going to Happen Because of KFC Radio
On KFC Radio this week, Russell Crowe revealed that he's recently been texting with Ryan Gosling about the potential for a sequel to the Nice Guys. They've already came up with a title for the movie even though there's no plot yet, Nice Guys: The Mexican Detectives. They have no plot yet, they just find it funny that somehow they have to be Mexican Detectives. With the chemistry that these two have on screen (and the fact the writer is Shane Black who wrote Lethal Weapon), that's more than enough to get this sequel green lit. Honestly, I think the only reason it hasn't happened yet is because the writer's been tied up with a new Lethal Weapon*.
For those who haven't seen it, stop what you're doing and put on Netflix right now. It's not only one of the most under rated comedies of the last ten years and it's also just a fun whodunit. If you don't believe me believe the man who watches movies at all hours of the day.
Shoutout Rear Ads twitter, nothin better than not being able to sleep and finding out the Departed is on tv at 3 am.
Anyway, I think this might be a rare occasion where the fans are going to get what they want. Russell Crowe himself said one of the reasons he texted Ryan Gosling is because "People keep asking for this." He's right. When this interview was released, the story started getting picked up by other outlets (Screen Rant, Comicbook.com, and more). The response it got was unbelievable.
There's nearly a thousand quote tweets on that, all begging for the movie to happen.
Just few hours later, Nice Guys has begun trending on Netflix.
We can make this happen. We can bully Hollywood into making this movie. If you want to help, like, tweet that you want the sequel and stuff.
If you want to hear more about Nice Guys 2, Cinderella Man, Russell Crowe's band, and whether or not he believes in ghosts, watch the full video below.
PS If we get this to happen lets aim our focus at the circus that was gonna be Forrest Gump 2 next. Based on the description of that movie's plot from the writer, it seems like it could have been Tom Hanks' Simple Jack.
*= Mac has announced he will be stepping down from the role of Murtaugh. Feel free to applaud.
