The NCAA basketball tournament always steals the headlines come March, but let’s not forget the NCAA hockey tournament is getting underway this week!! The Frozen Four is in Tampa on April 6th and 8th and the Chiclets Game Notes crew will have boots on the ground, so we need to know which 4 teams will meet us down there.
These blogs will break down each Regional and give you all the important information you will need to follow the tournament and even cash a few bets with the $EBR Crew.
Allentown Regional, March 24-26 | PPL Center – Allentown, PA
Game 1: 5 p.m. ET Friday, March 24 (2) Penn State vs. (3) Michigan Tech
Penn State - (21-15-1) Finished tied for 5th in Big Ten, but their out-of-conference schedule had them as a top 10 team.
Odds to Win Title on Barstool Sportsbook: +2300
Player to Watch: Kevin Wall from Rochester, NY is their top scorer and is a Carolina Hurricanes prospect.
Nittany Lions Game Notes: Happy Valley is only 2.5 hours from Allentown so they will have a small home-ice advantage.
Michigan Tech - (24-10-4) 2nd in CCHA regular season, Ryland Mosley top scorer
Odds to Win Title on Barstool Sportsbook: +5000
Player to Watch: Blake Pietila, the senior goaltender is a Hobey Baker Finalist and was player of the year in the CCHA.
Huskies Game Notes: They have not lost two games in a row all season, so this will be put to the test vs. Penn State.
$EBR Pick to Advance: We are looking for Michigan Tech ml +105 Barstool Sportsbook to pull the upset here.

Game 2: 8:30 p.m. ET Friday, March 24 (1) Michigan University vs. (4) Colgate University
Michigan - (24-11-3) The Big Ten Tournament Champions are filled with NHL talent.
Odds to Win Title on Barstool Sportsbook: +350
Player to Watch: Adam Fantilli led the nation in scoring as a freshman and is a top 3 prospect for the NHL Draft this summer.
Wolverines Game Notes: Lost in the Frozen Four last year as the favorite to win the championship. Luke Hughes is an absolute stud and will report to New Jersey the second they are eliminated or lift the trophy.
Colgate - (19-5-5) They had a Cinderella run as the #5 seed in ECAC to win the tourney and get a ticket to the big dance.
Odds to Win Title on Barstool Sportsbook: +10000
Player to Watch: Goaltender Carter Gylander will have to play the game of his career for Colgate to pull the massive upset.
Red Raiders Game Notes: Coach Don Vaughan won his first ECAC title after 30 years with Colgate.
$EBR Pick to Advance: I need to see Fantili play as many games as possible before the draft so we gotta take Michigan. Their moneyline is -385 at the Barstool Sportsbook is high, so we won't take that but -1.5 -150 could be the play.
Game 3: Allentown Regional Final: 6:30 p.m. ET Sunday, March 26
$EBR Pick to Frozen Four: Michigan is head and shoulders above all the teams in this bracket and they happen to be my boss's alma mater, so we gotta take the Wolverines. The Pres is down in Miami so maybe he'll make an appearance in Tampa with the Game Notes crew if his school makes it to the Final.
