The NCAA basketball tournament always steals the headlines come March, but let’s not forget the NCAA hockey tournament is getting underway this week!! The Frozen Four is in Tampa on April 6th and 8th and the Chiclets Game Notes crew will have boots on the ground, so we need to know which 4 teams will meet us down there.

Allentown Regional, March 24-26 | PPL Center – Allentown, PA

Game 1: 5 p.m. ET Friday, March 24 (2) Penn State vs. (3) Michigan Tech

Penn State - (21-15-1) Finished tied for 5th in Big Ten, but their out-of-conference schedule had them as a top 10 team.

Player to Watch: Kevin Wall from Rochester, NY is their top scorer and is a Carolina Hurricanes prospect.

Nittany Lions Game Notes: Happy Valley is only 2.5 hours from Allentown so they will have a small home-ice advantage.

Michigan Tech - (24-10-4) 2nd in CCHA regular season, Ryland Mosley top scorer

Wolverines Game Notes: Lost in the Frozen Four last year as the favorite to win the championship. Luke Hughes is an absolute stud and will report to New Jersey the second they are eliminated or lift the trophy.

Colgate - (19-5-5) They had a Cinderella run as the #5 seed in ECAC to win the tourney and get a ticket to the big dance.
