LEON EDWARDS SUCCESSFULLY DEFENDS HIS TITLE IN LONDON

WOW - what a fight!! Tremendous main event at the O2 right there to cap off a fantastic card.

Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman just completed their trilogy in London, and after a night of some controversial decisions - it was only right to end the night on one more! Thankfully, though - these scorecards weren't too bad, and the final call sent the crowd home happy!

Edwards won the fight via majority decision (48-46, 48-46, 47-47) after having a point deducted from him in Round 3 for an egregious fence grab while defending a takedown, which seemed to be super polarizing on social media.

Honestly, I thought Herb made the right call when deducting a point, despite it being in such a high profile spot - and Leon Edwards had four fouls throughout the fight between the fence grab, an eye poke, and a couple nut shots, so it was only fair.

Outside of that, the rounds were close, but I had Leon Edwards winning the first, fourth, and fifth - his best rounds being the ones bookending the fight. He focused a lot more on the leg kicks and left body kicks this time around (to set up the head kick, which he landed eventually - but obviously not like last time) and did a great job defending Kamaru's takedowns.

Usman didn't fight a BAD fight by any means - like I said, this decision was super close and even controversial to some, who'd scored it in his favor - but he definitely looked a little bit slower (and possibly older?) than he ever has in my opinion. He was just totally unable to do anything with his takedowns or hold Edwards down/against the cage tonight.

Colby Covington was in the front row for this one, and Daniel Cormier alluded to him possibly being next during Leon Edwards' post-fight interview, but Edwards pretty quickly dismissed him which was pretty funny....

....but now, PLOT TWIST - Islam says he wants Leon next....

Could you imagine that?! Makhachev moves up and challenges the 170lb Champ right after the 145lb Champ tries to challenge him for the 155lb Championship?! We're mixin weight classes and getting wild, and in the words of Joey Diaz, WHO GIVES A FUCK!

You wanna get nuts?! Let's get nuts!

Plus, don't forget - Conor McGregor is right back in the mix with a win over Michael Chandler. You may not like it, but you better believe he'd get an insta-title shot if he beats Iron Mike. That's a no brainer.

Congrats to Leon Edwards on the phenomenal performance tonight - and congrats to me for these bets….

Me after winning a couple $5 bets….
