If This Dude On Venezuela Going Nuts After a Huge Strikeout Doesn't Get You Fired Up Then Nothing Will - The World Baseball Classic Is Awesome

No buttons. All guts. Pure electricity.

I love this dude Quijada on Venezuela. The last button on his jersey fighting for dear life. The crowd going absolutely bonkers. These teams fighting for their lives in just their first game of the WBC. It's all just so awesome. That's everything you imagine this tournament being. I've watched back that clip 50 times already and it doesn't get old. Only thing that woulda made it better would be him going full tarps off.

The answer of how to save baseball and boost popularity throughout the country isn't pitch clock, it's not bigger bases, and it isn't less pickoffs. The actual solution is to recreate the kind of scene we witnessed tonight down in Miami between Venezuela and the DR in the WBC. The energy in that stadium from the first pitch to the last was incredible.

By the way, I said in my blog earlier that I liked Venezuela +250. What a job from their pitching staff, with Martin Perez setting the tone, navigating that lineup. Felt like there were multiple men on base every inning with an All-Star at the plate. Venezuela held them in check. Just like that the super team is 0-1.

Juan Soto, Manny Machado, J-Rod, Devers, Wander, Sandy, Pena and more. None of them had a plan for David Peralta who might just be Mr. Venezuela

I love the World Baseball Classic.
