Things You Didn't Expect To Read Today: Mr. Feeney Had An Open Marriage

Page Six - Bonnie Bartlett Daniels says she and husband William Daniels “never felt tied to fidelity” at the beginning of their now 72-year marriage.

The 93-year-old got candid about the ups and downs of her relationship with the “Boy Meets World” actor, 95, while promoting her new memoir, “Middle of the Rainbow.”

“I guess it was a little bit of an open marriage at first, but that was very painful,” Bartlett Daniels told Fox News Digital on Tuesday. “That didn’t work well.”

“And it was a time when people were doing that,” she continued. “It was at a time in New York when there was a lot of sex and a lot of people doing all kinds of things, you know — very free.”

Did not expect to read that today. Absolutely had no idea this would pop across the old timeline. A few things jumped out. 

First off, Bonnie Bartlett Daniels played the love interest of Mr.Feeney in a recurring role as Dean Lila Bolander and was actually Feeney's real life wife. Had no idea. 

Second, they have been married 72 years. I knew they were old but kind of crazy when you put it into perspective they have been married twice as long as I have lived. 

And then obviously lastly, the open marriage thing. Wild to read they got married at 18 and then basically made it an open marriage from the get go, which apparently drove her crazy but she also partook in. Very very bizarre story. Which of course comes out when she is pushing a book. That does make sense. Anytime celebs push a book they have a headline grabbing story to go with it. If I had to guess the rest of this book is a dud but this story will drive people to buy. 

I just wish I could unread this. I want to remember Mr. Feeney as the wise old man, teacher and good neighbor I knew.
