Microsoft Just Put 10 Billion Into CHat GPT AI
- Microsoft is set to invest $10 billion in OpenAI as part of a funding round that would value the company at $29 billion, news site Semafor reported Tuesday.
- Microsoft will reportedly get a 75% share of OpenAI’s profits until it makes back the money on its investment, after which the company would assume a 49% stake in OpenAI.
- A bet on ChatGPT could help Microsoft boost its efforts in web search, a market dominated by Google.
Microsoft just basically bought out OpenAI. They are the makers of this software which I almost guarantee will get everyone fired.
I mean ChatGPT is even getting cited in science journals AS A AUTHOR.
I was going to ask the AI Chatbot what he thought of Microsoft buying such a large stake in them, but they are currently too swamped and offline.
Microsoft might integrate the technology into Microsoft word and end up totally pushing the whole concept of research or any time of academic writing extinct. Like when ChatGPT gets access to the whole modern internet instead of just anything before 2021 that it currently has, it will legitimately be smarter and more literate than any high school student. I do not see how any type of writing can be assigned in HS or College.
This also is going to mean in the future when ChatGOPT is so widespread because it is a very useful tool that Microsoft will be able to program its bias and flow of information. Bill Gates just got a very useful tool in the control of the future of the big tech landscape.
