The Philadelphia Eagles Offense Was Just Edging Their Way Into The Playoffs. Now You're All In Deep Shit

There's only so much gas you can store in the tank, and there are only so many touchdowns a team can score in a season. You may not know the exact number of touchdowns a team will have to work with at the beginning of the season, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.
Which is exactly why the Philadelphia Eagles' offense looked like a shell of themselves yesterday against a bunch of 2nd and 3rd stringers for the Giants. The team made like 5 or 6 different trips to the red zone, and they only had one touchdown on the day to show for it. The only reason they even scored that one is because Boston Scott is a certified Giant Killer.
If it weren't for the fact that Boston Scott is literally addicted to scoring against the Giants, then the Eagles offense wouldn't have gotten into the end zone at all yesterday. And they still would have won the game 18-16 since Jake Elliott was kicking like a demon.
Now is that because the Eagles offense just isn't that good? Is that because the Giants 2nd and 3rd stringers are actually the best defensive group in the league? Is that because the Eagles are still banged up and they didn't want to put guys like Jalen Hurts in dangerous positions, which pretty much neutered the entire playbook?
Or maybe, juuuuust maybe, the Eagles didn't want to waste any of their precious touchdowns in what was a borderline meaningless week 18 game against the Giants. The Eagles offense could have, and realistically should have, scored 4 touchdowns yesterday. But what good would that have done? The would just mean they have 4 fewer touchdowns to work with over the next 3 games in the playoffs. It didn't make any sense to waste them yesterday. So they'd come close to scoring a touchdown, but then right before they got into the end zone they would send an illegal man downfield. Or right before they got into the end zone they would run 3 straight plays for a loss of yards. It goes back to last week against New Orleans, too. And now you're going to give them another week off before they have a chance to get into the end zone again?
All I'm saying is that I hope whoever the sorry sacks of shit who have to go up against the Eagles in the divisional round are ready for the explosion of touchdowns they're about to get all up in their face.
Honestly that was the worst thing the Giants could have done yesterday. Because now the Eagles aren't heading into playoffs feeling loose and relaxed. They're going to be a bunch of rabid dogs. Time to run this shit up.
