Jeremy Renner Has Undergone Multiple Emergency Surgeries And Remains In The ICU After Being Run Over By His Own Snow Plow While He Was Helping Out a Stranded Motorist
Marvel star Jeremy Renner is out of a second surgery to treat the injuries he sustained when he was run over by the snow plow he was using at his Lake Tahoe ranch.
A representative for the 51-year-old actor told People Monday night that Renner 'has returned from surgery and remains in the Intensive Care Unit in critical but stable condition.'
He also confirmed that the two-time Oscar nominee 'suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries' in the accident Sunday morning when he was trying to clear a path out of his Lake Tahoe home with his PistenBully, a snowcat made by the German manufacturer Kassbohrer.
'He was helping someone stranded in the snow,' Schieve told the Reno Gazette-Journal Monday night. She said she and the actor are friends and that she was called about the accident shortly after it happened near the Mt. Rose Highway that connects Reno to Lake Tahoe.
Movie star Jeremy Renner was busy digging his Lake Tahoe house out of the snow this past weekend when he stopped to help a stranded motorist. It's at that point where his snow plow's safety feature failed and ran him over. Over the last few days he's undergone multiple emergency surgeries to save his life. Between this, Damar Hamlin, and rally car driver Ken Block's freak accident the last few days it's all just heartbreaking to read about.
If you follow Renner on Instagram you frequently see his place snowed in.
This is the plow he regularly uses to clear out the place. We're not talking a snow blower or a little plow, nope this thing is the real deal.
It's still unclear what happened with the motorist and how Renner's plow caught him off guard. What we do know is that by some miracle his neighbor, who happens to be a doctor, was able to rush in and put a tourniquet on his injured leg to stop the bleeding before the airlift arrived. The actor is currently in critical but stable condition, but if not for the neighbor we could talking about a much different situation.
It was reported yesterday that he was seen alert and talking, but I believe that was before this second surgery that took place today. We all saw how big that plow is. Getting caught underneath that is unthinkable. Aside from the leg injury he reportedly suffered blunt chest trauma which is fairly vague and could mean a lot of things, but also certainly not good. Just a nightmare situation to find yourself in and all the guy was doing was helping a stranger out.
I hate to bring this up, but unfortunately I kept seeing people on Twitter yesterday actually happy this happened because of some allegations a few years ago. That app is an actual cancer to us all. It's legitimately deranged behavior to have your mind go to wishing ill-will during a time like this. Be a fucking human being for one minute.
Goes without saying I hope to God Hamlin and Renner are both able to pull through and make speedy recoveries.
Update: He's awake!
