Bell Biv Devoe Performed The National Anthem At Today's Winter Classic at Fenway And Flat Out Crushed It

Does anybody do it better than the NHL does it with the "Winter Classic"?

Answer is no.

The beauty of it is that its one of the greatest marketing ideas in sports history, yet they've been wise enough not to over-saturate it, water it down, or whore it out to the point we get tired of it.

They manage to slightly tinker and tweak it by making minor improvements each year and not anything too drastic.

From today's exit off the bus with the B's in bygone-era Red Sox uniforms, with bats slung over their shoulders,

to the Pens and them taking the ice, set to the Boston Pops playing backdrop, they nailed everything once again.

And let's not forget the cherry on top. Having hometown heroes Bell Biv Devoe - Ronnie, Ricky, and Mike- come out and synch up with The Pops for the National Anthem, with the Air Force flyover was just

Splendido!

Anytime BBD is in the mix at Fenway is special. I looked everywhere for this Dana Barros narrated doc that NESN did a few years ago, but couldn't find it anywhere online.

The Bruins, NHL, and Fenway somehow were able to top all of this by having the greatest ever, Bobby Orr, come out and sling one to Jason Varitek.

And they still have our boys, The Black Keys, performing later.

Hats off all around to a great job by all involved.
