CNN Completely Whiffing On Ringing In The New Year For The Central Times, Because They Had “Back Dat Azz Up” Playing Instead, Is The Only Sign We Need That 2023 Is Going to Be An Amazing Year
What a shit show.
Perhaps Ryan Seacrest was right?
Having the camera fixated on Don Lemon, one of the most awkward humans alive, tossing beads on Bourbon St., oblivious to the producers screaming in his earpiece they need to untiate the central time zone countdown is hilarious.
Or maybe that call never came?
Because why would they have that dj feed still piped in? Makes no sense.
And before you start hating on the dj for the music continuing to cut out like that, our guy was trying to keep his job and not get anybody fined by the FCC, by cutting out the volume on ever cuss word. The fact he didn’t have a clean/radio edit version of the Juvenile track is hilarious. The fact that New Orleans is still playing this song PEAK HOUR, to ring in New Year’s Eve in this case, is even funnier.
Though he did miss a few “hoes” and “ass(es)” in there.
Regardless, this is just more, blatant, east coast bias rearing it’s ugly head.
Once NYC drops the ball, everyone thinks work is over and it’s party time. Nobody gives a fuck about central, mountain, or pacific time.
Let me ask you something CNN.
Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Austin, OKC, Nashville, Kansas City, San Antonio, Memphis, Milwaukee… ever heard of them?
Yah well they’re all in the central time zone.
Also, for our Hispanic Stoolies, one of the most populated cities in the world, Mexico City is in the central time zone. No big deal…
I would say clean it the fuck up but CNN has been a clown show for so long this is just par for the course now.
Yikes.
BUT. Big BUT, here. It’s a new year. New you. New me. As a glass half full guy, I’m choosing to view this in a positive light and as a sign that we are in for an amazing year. A throwback from better time, 1998 to be exact. Let’s bring back those vibes all around shall we?
