What We Learned About Rico Bosco Last Night

Last night during the Cyber Monday Telethon in front of the entire Barstool office and the Stoolie universe, the stars aligned. Myself, alongside other employees lined up to take penalty shots for a chance to win some money. I was 2nd to last on the list of goalies and there was a worry that I wouldn't even get to face a shot, but eventually it got to me.

For a while I started realizing and hearing the chatters in the crowd, "what if Rico who had to eventually present merch gets matched up to Nadu"?

He was taking calls and then Jerry mentioned to me as I walked up to the net that it would be interesting if he got matched to shoot a penalty shot against me. I quickly realized that it all came together like it only would at Barstool. Rico was offered his chance to present his merch and the 10k buzzer SURPISINGLY (not really) went off. He had his shot. He could put all his might behind it, so I told him to "kick it at my face", bring it. He agreed I though...but then winded up and absolutely fired a rocket into the top corner that Tim Howard would've had trouble stopping.

He walked off and we didn't see him again, it was his mic drop moment.

I commended him for a great shot. I believe to create a lane at Barstool, you have to have no shame. You have to take the good moments with the bad. I gave him his flowers. I have also moved past hating Rico. I wanted nothing more than to walk up to him and shake hands and move on. I think most of us are tired of the grade school stuff. The Stoolies deserve the best content Barstool has to offer. However, I now just have the thinking of delusions of grandeur:  "well maybe a miracle could happen someday."

I have content at Barstool, The Sitdown does well on podcasts and YouTube, I've built that lane. I'll continue to talk about sports betting and create funny content in my nightlife escapades and more. I just know that there's a piece of content I would do that could change the game. Last night gave all of us a rare glimpse into the truly magical content pairing we could have. I have typed out things like this before and they have fallen on deaf ears before. Even Dave Portnoy and Dan Katz, the pillars of Barstool, have mentioned how perfect it could be.

Rico hates me. He hates me more than anyone could hate someone. Why he hates me, I'll never know. I only wish he would pull down his guard just a bit and give things like last night more of a shot. It stole the show and that's what him and I would do, steal the show.

He paints me as someone not on his level, but I am. I am engaging, critical, willing to push back and have one of the best college basketball minds on the planet. We've begun to very much realize that with him and I together doing content is way better than him not doing content outside Dave and Dan. In a month Rico, college hoops will be the only game in town. We have the ability to create something that could truly change the trajectories of both of our careers.

You showed last night you could have the ability to let whatever bygones be bygones and make content with me. It's time that hopefully you see whether Stoolies like me or not or whether they like you or not, a show with us would change the game.

Again I put out my hand to shake yours… will you?
