Frontier Airlines Ends Customer Service Helpline And Officially Becomes The Worst Airline

SOURCE - Budget airline Frontier has discontinued its customer service helpline as it goes all in on digital.

Customers who need to contact the airline for changes to their flight will no longer be able to dial the helpline and will have to resort to the airline’s digital communication channels.

“We have found that most customers prefer communicating via digital channels,” said Jennifer F. de la Cruz, the senior director of corporate communications. “Customers can visit our website and interact initially with a chatbot which provides answers to common questions.”

Well, that's a lie. No one likes "communicating via digital channels". We only do it because specific industries don't give a shit about customer service and force us to press various numbers in hopes a robot will solve our problems. In reality, we give up after 20 minutes and bitch to friends/family/Big Cat on Twitter and the giant company wins again. Believe me Jennifer...no one prefers that.

This race to the bottom with Spirit Airlines of who could care less about their customers would be impressive if they weren't trying so hard to screw over people who have a hard time affording a plane ticket. Spirit doesn't just charge you for a carry-on bag, they will charge you $100 to cancel your flight at the airport or even over the phone. Even then, you don't get the money back that you paid for the flight you just cancelled. Instead, you get credit towards another awful Spirit flight. They even charge you to print your boarding pass or if a minor flies alone. Spirit is obviously evil but they've never really pretended to be anything different.

It's wild to see Frontier try to keep up by being so shitty. Keep in mind, this is a company that brought in over $2 billion dollars in revenue last year. But if you have a problem or question, you will not be able to speak to a human. Adding to their legacy, Frontier also had to pay $2.2 million dollars in fines for not providing refunds to customers due to COVID-19. They were the only airline to get fined.

Sorry Spirit. You are no longer the the worst airline. Enjoy the title Frontier. It's all yours until some airline rips out seats and the bathrooms and tells us people would rather stand in their own shit on a cross-country flight.
