Has Chipotle Has Made Their Hot Salsa MUCH Hotter? Barstool Investigates!
Yesterday around lunch time a few of my friends were texting about their Chipotle orders and you know what that did? It got me in the mood for some Chipotle myself so I waddled over to the location a few blocks from our office and dove into some Chipotle myself. Now I don't hit Chipotle all the time. I go through Chipotle phases For a year or 2 I'll get it all the time then stop then do it again, etc etc. I've been on a hiatus pretty much since Covid began until about a month ago and I've gotten it say 3 times since?
The last 2 times I had it, I said to myself "SHEESH this salsa is not for the faint of heart" as my order is simply chicken, rice, hot salsa, sour cream, and corn so the hot salsa can really be a star in there. Then as I'm chowing down yesterday and noticed a few of my friends say the same thing, which is why I had to ask the world: Did Chipotle make their hot salsa recipe even hotter?
Thankfully SO MANY people agreed with my hypothesis. Chipotle had to have switched something up! I'm not saying this as if it's a bad thing. I love spice. I love having to practically sweat & down water as i eat. It's awesome. Though there's no arguing that it's just hotter than it used to be.
Luckily we were able to get an official response from Chipotle:
Hmmmmm, Levi from Chipotle is saying the recipe has stayed the same while thousands of people think something has changed. As an aspiring private investigator here at Barstool, I will continue to do my best to get to the bottom of this. At least while I'm still in my Chipotle phase.
BY THE WAY if you want to feel really spicy on a Thursday afternoon you should check out the new Only Stans episode starring Sky Bri & Rara Knupps. It's literally impossible to get spicer than them.
