It's Officially Malik Willis Time As The Titans Announce Ryan Tannehill Is OUT Tomorrow Vs Houston

And just like that the Titans will get an extended look at their QB of the future, Malik Willis. With Ryan Tannehill officially missing Sunday's game vs the Texas due to an ankle injury and an illness, the rookie will get his first NFL start against arguably the worst team in football. It's not the way the Titans wanted to get a look at Willis, but with Tannehill spraining that ankle last week it allowed Willis to get first team reps all week. Honestly, it's the perfect opportunity for Willis, a defense that isn't very good, but they do always play the Titans tough. Tannehill had started 49 straight games since replacing Marcus Mariota in 2019 but the streak stops there, for one week it is Malik time.

We saw the legs in preseason, he can run with the best of them. But as always with unpolished rookie QBs, you worry about the arm. I don't want him to run because he wants to, I want him to run only if he needs to. Would love to see him stand back in the pocket, make his reads, and go from there. You can't take this Texans team lightly and you know Willis won't be sleepwalking heading into his first career start. It sucks that Tannehill is out but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited to see Willis. The third round pick is the QB of the future in Tennessee, now we get a sneak peak at what he's got. In Malik we trust!
