The Bears Need To Trade For DJ Moore Right NOW
I am back in Chicago after the Bears pulled our finger nails out one by one on Thursday night vs the Commanders. That is what it's like watching this team play offense. They have a bunch of guys who should be working for Enterprise Rental Cars at WR and an offensive line that blocks like Ray Budds in Remember The Titans. It's been awful to watch and I can even imagine what it feels like to be Justin Fields and Luke Getsy. Somehow, the Bears have been in every single game despite having virtually zero talent on offense.
And then you remember that this was on purpose. This was the plan all along by Poles. For whatever reason the Bears decided to spend ZERO dollars on anyone this summer. You know it was by design because that is the only way to explain spending 20 MILLION DOLLARS LESS THAN THE NEXT CLOSEST TEAM ON OFFENSE
That is astounding. I didn't realize it was that bad. That is an indication of a plan. What the plan is I don't know. That is for Poles to say, but you don't spend this little by accident. And this is with Pringle and Whitehair factored in. Both of them are on IR so it's actually closer to $20M total. It is a god damn MIRACLE that they have been in basically every game the entire year and found ways to lose them.
So…trade for DJ Moore. Do it.
Get one piece to the puzzle for Justin Fields with Moore. Then sign Mooney to an extension. In the draft the Bears can go get another WR like that TCU kid, Johnston. Spend all the dollars on veteran O-line help and get this thing turned around quickly.
It can turn quickly in the NFL, but you have to spend. You can't have your entire offense making less than Kurt Cousins and then be upset (hand up, I got upset) when your offensive "weapons" can't out-duel Cousins or even Wentz. Keep Fields alive. Hopefully the young guys on the line can develop and the money available next year can supplement the Bears. I am actually encouraged by the fact that this team is competitive while fielding a team that makes less than the NIL deals at Alabama. Get real talent and see where this group can go.
