The Blackhawks Made A Trade In The Middle Of The Night

So long, Riley Stillman, we barely got to know you. I liked him. He was a competitive kid. Played with a lot of bite. I think he is the perfect 6-7 defensemen for a playoff team. He could help push Vancouver towards a wild card. That isn't the Blackhawks this year though. Not even close. And...it's a numbers game on defense for the Blackhawks. They signed Jack Johnson. Roos and Regula are making the team out of camp. Jones, Jones, Murphy, Johnson, McCabe, Vlasic, Regula, and Roos make Stillman expendable. Not to mention guys like Phillips and Mitchell who will get NHL games this year. It is what it is...a win for both teams.

Jason DIckinson is a warm body. Career 4th line type guy. Can play wing or center. Nothing to get excited about, but he is worthy of a roster spot. He's a pro. It's whatever.

The prize here is the 2nd round pick. Getting a 2nd round pick in a deep draft for a guy that you didn't need is a nice haul for Davidson.

This is a good thing

Hopefully they can get 6 bonafide NHL players out of those 12 picks.

Feels good to have a plan

PS: Stan did it again

Connelly…sent to AHL and then bought out. Borgstrom…bought out. Stillman…traded.

Carlsson played a role for in the 3rd pair for the best team in the NHL. He could never evaluate his own guys and that is how we got here.
