Italian Soccer Player Had To Be Held Back From Going After A Fan Who Was Mocking Him In The Parking Lot, Should Have Been Allowed To Fight

Clearly something happened here that really pissed off Domenico Berardi. Maybe it was the loss to Modena. Maybe it was Italy missing the World Cup. All I know is this dude was ready to fight/angrily point and yell at someone. Don't hold him back. I know the police/security here are 'protecting' him. But clearly the fan got what he wanted and agitated the shit out of Berardi.

Let him go.

We're outside of the stadium here. Athletes should have every right to get one free confrontation with a fan per season. Let's see what happens if Berardi got close to the fan and decided to do something. I know they are soccer players, but they are still pro athletes. Even dumber is the fact he apologized.

[Source] - Berardi has subsequently apologised for the incident, writing in an Instagram story: “I want to apologise for what happened outside the stadium after the game against Modena. We are professionals and, above all, we must be examples for youths and kids. Today I didn’t behave as such.

“That’s because the things that I love the most, such as my wife and my son, were deliberately involved off the pitch, hurting me deeply. I also renew my apologies to the opposing fans.”

I'll say it. Fans are too cocky these days. People feel like they have too many rights to scream/say whatever and not get a response back. When there is a response back people freak out because 'they are pro athletes.' 'It's part of the job.' All the other cliche statements. I say, fuck it. I have no problem with athletes freaking out and responding once in a while. Everyone is human. You're going to get pissed off. Embrace it.
