Watching Hideki Matsuyama Put 3 Straight Balls Into The Water On 18 Today Is Weirdly Comforting

I find Hideki unintentionally hilarious and one of my favorite golfers to watch. Every shot he hits with that weird one arm follow through and his reaction makes you think it's going to be a shitty shot ends being 6 feet from the pin. But this? 3 straight in the water on 18? Needed to see that. Every once in a while it's nice to see the best golfers in the world look like me and you. It's comforting to know that this game that most of us love is still as frustrating as hell.

I've said it before, but there's nothing like this game. Play it all the time and you think at some point you'll just figure it out. Nope. Something goes wrong. A weird hitch in the swing comes out of nowhere. A good day of driving turns into a shitty day of putting. Chipping? Good luck. I've only seen one person improve dramatically.

Look at our beloved Trent hit a tee shot on 1 yesterday!

Frankly he's underselling it. Ball going forward and staying in play? That's a 3-for-3 pal.

Anyways, back to Hideki. This is on 18. Usually for the weekend and casual golfers 18 means a par. That's the hole you play well and makes you think 'okay I can come back tomorrow and knock off a couple strokes.' For Hideki's case it was water, water, water, over and then hit the stick. Just a real kick in the dick. Nothing like the perfect shot to save quad and get out with a +6 77 on the day.
