Tiger Woods Gets Emotional As He Walks Down The 18th Fairway At St. Andrews
Wow, what a moment we just watched at St. Andrews. You can see how much this place means to the greatest golfer to ever pick up a club. We see a lot more emotions from the new age Tiger, but rarely do we see it while there's still work to be done. The feels were oozing out of him as he crossed the Swilcan Bridge. Couldn't help himself.
The golf itself was disappointing the last couple of days. We had hopes of something more from Tiger this week, but we just gotta be thankful that he's here. What a road he's been on the past 18 months. It's a fucking miracle that he played a single round of competitive professional golf this year, let alone 3 of the 4 majors. In hindsight, that opening round 71 at Augusta was a real thing of beauty.
Who the hell knows where Tiger goes from here. After the round, he acknowledged that he's not sure that he'll be able to play again here at St. Andrews by the time the Open comes back around. There's no date for that set yet but he'll probably be in his low to mid 50's by then. At the rate he's going, it's hard to imagine him going through this grind where he's taking 3 ice baths a day just to play a handful of rounds every year. But the guy might be the most determined human to ever walk this Earth, and the fact that he didn't stop on Swilcan Bridge is a message that he's sure as hell gonna try. He's here for some roses, but he's not here for a swan song.
Gotta tip the cap to Tiger on a hard fought year. He may not have played well, but he certainly earned all the applause and adulation sent his way.
Bravo, Tiger.
