LET'S FUCKING GO! Tony Danza Is Coming Back For A "Who's The Boss" Sequel. And He's Bringing Alyssa Milano's Crazy Ass With Him
Daily Mail - Amazon is hoping to rekindle the magic that once made Who's The Boss? a bonafide hit sitcom for ABC back in the 1980's and early '90s.
A sequel series that reunites lead actors Tony Danza and Alyssa Milano, who played the father-daughter duo Tony and Samantha Micelli, has been picked up for development by Amazon Freevee, according to a report from Deadline.
After premiering in September 1984, the original show went on to have a successful eight season run on ABC, which drew more than 30 million viewers at its peak, before ending with its finale in April 1992.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine writer/producer Brigitte Muñoz-Liebowitz will also serve as a co-executive producer.
For the reboot, Danza and Milano will reprise their roles as Tony and Samantha Micelli 30 years after the events of the end of the original series, which was created by Martin Cohan and Blake Hunter.
And like the original, the main focus of the storyline will be on the relationship between the former Major League Baseball player/retired housekeeper and his daughter, only now she's a single mother living in the very same family house from back in the 1980s.
The comedy will explore generational differences, opposing world-views, and parenting styles within the dynamic of a modern family in 2022.
This is fucking awesome news.
If you grew up with "Who's The Boss" in the 90s try to sit here and tell me you didn't fall madly in love with Sam Micelli. You can't. She was the complete package. Natural beauty. Wise ass who could hold her own with the biggest shit talkers. Awesome baseball player. Son of a former MLBer. Italian.
Plus her dad was Tony.
Easily on the Mouth Rushmore of 90s tv sitcom dads (Jason Seaver "Growing Pains", Frank Lambert "Step By Step", and of course, Danny Tanner "Full House").
Just a super positive, always in a good mood, fun-loving paisan.

Of course Angela and Jonathan are trying to weasel their ways back in on this.
Original cast members Judith Light (Angela Robinson Bower) and Danny Pintauro (Jonathan Bower) expressed their hope to see their characters added into the new series when word of the new show was made public in 2020. But so far there's no official word on whether they will in fact join the cast.
Talk about two people who brought zero to the table.
Jonathan was a little pussy who clearly lost all of his athleticness and manliness to his older sister.
And Angela was one of the biggest dick-teases of all time. Just brutal.
The sad thing in all of this is we won't get to see Mona in this because the actress who played her, Katherine Helmond, passed away. (R.I.P.)
Nonetheless, awesome news for people who are fans of sitcom television. Anytime a sitcom show gets announced its a win when everything on tv is scripted "reality" tv garbage.
