Joc Pederson Reportedly Refused to Leave the Braves' Clubhouse in San Diego Last Year Because He Knew Tommy Pham Wanted to Kick His Ass

I must say, this entire fantasy football and slap saga has somewhat tainted the Paul Bunyan-like image I have of Joc Pederson in my head. While he will always be the knight who rode in on a white horse and took the 2021 Atlanta Braves from the brink of ruin to a World Series championship to me, it seems like the Joc I know would have simply beaten the shit out of Tommy Pham as soon as this became an issue and been done with it.

I guess it makes sense to want to avoid someone who really wants to fight you if you don't want anything to do with that — and Pederson was certainly right in his assessment of Pham's mood towards him — but sometimes you have to just fight fire with fire. Joc Pederson, of all people, seems like the perfect guy to have taken matters into his own hands and flip the script.

I'm mostly just glad we have a guy on the inside of this fantasy football league now. This is the story that keeps on giving and if this one incident is any indication, Steven Cheah will have no shortage of insane MLB player fights to adjudicate.
