The Lakers Barely Waited To Fire Frank Vogel After The Final Buzzer Went Off On Their Horrendous Season

It took the Lakers until their 82nd game of the season to actually look like a team that gave a shit and considered ya know, trying, but they sure did have themselves quite the finale!

Sure the win meant absolutely nothing for both sides but man was it entertaining! Maybe with this win and how well the young guys looked that the Lakers might think there's something worth keeping Frank Vogel around. Ha! Nope! As soon as the final buzzer sounded not 2 seconds went by before we got the Woj bomb

I love this move by Woj. The Lakers will inform him as soon as Monday? No man, Frank Vogel has a phone. The players have phones. Everyone has Woj notifications, we all saw it, including Frank Vogel. Talk about an awkward postgame moment. You had Autin Reeves probably over the moon for having the game of his life and making some Lakers history, and now everyone has to sort of sit there while Vogel says what, his goodbyes? Thanks LeBron for the title and goes on his way? I guess that's all you can do in that situation. We all knew he was going to be the sacrificial lamb for the decisions made by LeBron and Rob Pelinka. They were the ones that built the roster that Vogel had to deal with. I'm sure he wasn't perfect, I'm sure there were plenty of things that fans and people who actually give a shit about that pathetic franchise wished he did better. But let's be very clear about something. This

was not because of Frank Vogel, even with all his flaws. The Lakers had one of their worst seasons in franchise history because they built a shit basketball team. One that is only getting older and does not have their lottery pick this season to use as a way to maybe get better. They're stuck.

In fact, the more I think about it, Frank Vogel is probably pretty pumped or at the very least relieved. He got a title*. I'm sure he'll still be making a decent living. Now he doesn't have to deal with LeBron or an always injured AD. Now he doesn't have to be forced to play Russell Westbook despite him being kinda shitty. If I had to guess he'll either take time off and do whatever the hell he wants, go into TV, or join a staff somewhere. That's not the worst way to live if we're being honest. Way better than being the whipping boy for all of LeBron's mistakes. I'm starting to think he might actually be excited this happened.

Either way, it's just very funny that the Lakers could not WAIT to get this news out. The win was barely official and they pulled the bandaid off. That's how you know they were ready to do this for quite a while. Now we all wait for them to bring in Doc Rivers or some shit and think that'll solve everything. It won't, but that's the beauty of this entire dumpster fire.
